Many versions of this dressing, Member lesleyprince

I've researched Russian dressing and claims are made that it was originally a vinaigrette-based dressing and that today's Russian dressing is an offshoot of Thousand Islands dressing. Russian dressing was made popular by the Russian Tea Room in NYC in the '60's - interesting culinary history. Kraft made a version once and it seems this recipe is based on the flavours of that commercial product. Since ketchup is overloaded with sugar, I found no additional sugar necessary. My version had gherkin pickle juice and white wine vinegar for acidity. I confess I used the recipe as an inspiration rather than a prescription. Thank your inspiring version of the dressing!
