Sausage & Apple Bites

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups baking mix
  • 1 pound raw bulk breakfast sausage, hot or mild
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 medium apples, finely chopped (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped finely)

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients; knead until well blended. Form into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until browned; turn after 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.

"My roomate and I were very skeptical but ironically all we had in our fridge was a pound of sausage, cheese, apples, and then we had some bisquik, so this fit the bill. Made a great late study snack, and I'm sure would be good for breakfast."
