Pickled Shrimp


This pickled shrimp makes a nice appetizer to serve with crackers and spreads.


  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry dillweed
  • 2 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 2 teaspoons capers
  • 2 pounds shelled and cooked shrimp


Combine oil, lime juice, vinegar, chives, salt, dill, pepper sauce, and capers. Add shrimp and toss. Chill at least 4 hours, stirring pickled shrimp occasionally. Drain and serve pickled shrimp with decorative toothpicks.
