Shrimp with Green Peas

Serve this shrimp recipe with rice, toast points, or patty shells.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 can (about 1 pound ) Peas, undrained
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • toast points or hot cooked rice

Preparation:

Wash and dry shrimps. Heat vegetable oil in heavy skillet; add shrimps and brown quickly. Add the onion, garlic, ginger and peas; simmer very gently 5 minutes. Make a smooth paste of the cornstarch, sugar, salt, soy sauce and water. Add to shrimp mixture very gradually; cook, stirring until thick. Serve on toast or rice.
Shrimp recipe serves 6.
