This one-step paté is completely made in a food processor. The only chopping involved is 1/2 cup of green onions (scallions).

Spread this on crackers or bread, raw vegetable slices, or spoon it on top of a salad to make an easy and light entrée.

This can be made up to two days ahead, making it ideal for a party or holiday meal. Store in the refrigerator.

Yield: Makes 4 cups


  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup top-quality mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 pound small baby shrimp (sometimes called "bay shrimp)
  • Paprika for garnish


Combine first 5 ingredients in a food processor, and blend until smooth. Taste for seasoning and add more worcertershire sauce and/or Old Bay Seasoning if desired.

Add the shrimp to the mixture in the food processor and pulse a few times, just until blended. Don't over-mix, as you want the paté to be light, and have some texture.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with paprika to add a bit of color.
