Broccoli Casserole Recipe

A broccoli casserole with bread, cheese, and eggs.

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices day-old French bread, torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1 bunch broccoli (about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs.), cut in bite-size pieces
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar, optional

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350°. Butter an 8-inch baking dish. Cover the bottom of the dish with torn bread. Lay broccoli on top of bread. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over vroccoli and bread. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 35 minutes. Southernfood.About.com
