Ingredients:
- 4 cups sliced celery, about 2 medium bunches
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcester sauce
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Preparation:
Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir until well blended; add chicken broth. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens and begins to bubble. Stir in pepper, Worcestershire sauce and cream; heat until hot, but not to boiling. Taste and add salt if necessary.
Spoon into a serving bowl and sprinkle creamed celery with toasted almonds.
Creamed celery recipe serves 6.
