Curried Beef and RiceSavory Beef and OnionsSteak and Onion Pie
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 pounds sirloin, cut into thin strips
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 6 to 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, halved, sliced thinly
- 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth
- 1/2 cup dry red wine, such as pinot noir or Burgundy
- 8 ounces noodles
- freshly chopped parsley
- 1 cup sour cream blended with 2 tablespoons flour
PREPARATION:
Add the beef broth and wine. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour, or until beef is tender. Meanwhile, cook noodles, following package directions. Drain and keep warm.
To the beef mixture add sour cream and flour mixture; stir, cooking, until hot. Add noodles and heat through.
Serves 4 to 6.
