Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon basil, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
- 1 green pepper, cut in chunks
- 1 pound spaghetti, cooked and drained
- grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation:
In a Dutch oven, brown ground beef with chopped onion. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms, and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add green pepper chunks; simmer for 15 minutes longer. Serve sauce over spaghetti and pass the Parmesan cheese. Spaghetti sauce serves 4 to 6.
