Ingredients:
- olive oil
- 2 stalks of celery, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 28 oz. can tomatoes, peeled and chopped-with juice
- 4 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
- pinch of sugar
- 2 or 3 leaves of fresh basil OR 1 1/2 teapoons of dried basil
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3 or 4 links Italian sausage, sweet or hot
- 1 4oz. can mushrooms - or use fresh, washed and sliced
Preparation:
Serves 4 to 6 but is easily doubled or tripled.

This is my all-time favorite recipe for spaghetti sauce. It came from
my Italian grandmother, Vincenza and it really is fantastic. We always
use the sweet Italian sausage but if you want more spice, use the hot.
