Lemon Ginger Cookies

Ginger cookies with butter, sour cream, and brown sugar.

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger

Preparation:

Cream together the butter and brown sugar until light. Beat in brown sugar, eggs, sour cream, extracts, and lemon zest; beat until light and fluffy. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, stirring to blend thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes, or until done. Remove from baking pan immediately. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
