Tuna and bread crumbs provide the savory filling for these stuffed peppers. A little lemon juice adds extra flavor to the tuna mixture.

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

  • 4 green bell peppers, split, seeds and membrane removed
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs, divided
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Peperoni ripieni in Napoli, Member katiadin

My mother in law come from Napoli, exactly in Benevento's area. In the little villages , the backeries sell soft bread crumbs packed in plastick bags! They reuse the bread of the day before for make them! I assure you that the taste of the peppers is better! In Neapolitan dialect they say ""peperoni chieni""
