Brown Sugar Cookies

Buttery brown sugar cookies.

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup finely ground pecans
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Preparation:

Cream butter with 1/2 cup sugar and the dark brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl then stir into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes or untill easy to handel. Roll into 1-inch balls and roll in remaining sugar; place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with the bottom of a flat-bottom glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. Cool brown sugar cookies on a wire rack.
Makes about 5 dozen brown sugar cookies.
