Decorate these brown sugar cookies with icing, if desired.

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup ground, blanched almonds

Preparation:

Cream butter to soften; add brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into the creamed mixture. Stir in almonds. Chill then roll out thin. Cut with cookie cutters into candy cane shapes or other shapes.
Bake cookies on ungreased baking sheets at 350° for about 10 minutes, until cookies are done.

"I just made these cookies along with a few others found on this website and I must strongly encourage you not to use this recipe. The cookies really don't taste that good. Don't waste your time; there's way better cookies out there."
