Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- colored sugar, optional
Preparation:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, melted chocolate, and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in flour until well blended. Chill dough in refrigerator overnight or several hours, until firm. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness; cut out with cookie cutters. If desired, sprinkle with colored sugar.
Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets in a 350° oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until set. Makes 5 to 6 dozen chocolate sugar cookies.
