Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Pepper to taste
- 2 cups boiling water
- 3/4 cup milk
Preparation:
Mix ground beef with onion, oats, 1 teaspoon salt, Worcestershire sauce,
egg and 1/2 cup milk. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Shape ground beef mixture into meatballs; brown on all sides in hot oil.
Remove meatballs and stir into fat the flour, paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt and
pepper to taste. Stir in 2 cups boiling water and 3/4 cup milk. Return meatballs to gravy and cook in oven at 350° for 30 minutes.
