Swedish Meatballs on Farfalle

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3/4 cup milk

Preparation:

Mix ground beef with onion, oats, 1 teaspoon salt, Worcestershire sauce, egg and 1/2 cup milk. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Shape ground beef mixture into meatballs; brown on all sides in hot oil. Remove meatballs and stir into fat the flour, paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste. Stir in 2 cups boiling water and 3/4 cup milk. Return meatballs to gravy and cook in oven at 350° for 30 minutes.
