INGREDIENTS:
PREPARATION:Generously butter a 12 x 8-inch baking dish. Trim 6 slices of the bread to fit the bottom of the baking dish. Butter the top of each slice of bread with 1/2 teaspoon of butter. Place bread slices buttered-side up in the baking dish. In a medium bowl flake tuna; add celery, onion and mayonnaise; mix together to blend well. Spread tuna mixture evenly over bread; sprinkle with cheeses. Trim remaining 6 slices of bread and spread on one side with remaining butter. Arrange slices, buttered-side up, over the tuna and cheese mixture. In medium bowl beat eggs with milk, mustard and hot pepper sauce; pour over the casserole. Bake at 350° 35 to 40 minutes, or until puffed and lightly browned. Let stand for about 10 minutes before serving. Tuna strata casserole serves 6. More Tuna Casserole Recipes Related Recipes |
