This tuna scallop is made with canned tuna, white sauce, potato chips, and vegetables.

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 cups coarsely crushed potato chips, about 6 to 8 ounces
  • 1 can (approx. 7 ounces) tuna, flaked and drained
  • 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms, drained

Preparation:

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat; blend in the flour, salt and pepper. Gradually stir in milk. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Add onion and parsley. Arrange 1 cup of the chips in the bottom of a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Cover with layers of the tuna, mushrooms, white sauce, and another 1 cup potato chips. Repeat, ending with the last cup of potato chips. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

Super easy to make BUT...March 06, 2009By RainneCassidy
"This recipe was SUPER easy to make and very tasty. HOWEVER I advise anyone making it to plan on doubling the amount of mushrooms, tuna and potato chips. For an eight inch square baking pan, one can of tuna and one can of mushrooms is NO WAY near enough for this recipe. I used two cans of tuna and two cans of mushroom stems & pieces and quite honestly probably should have gone on and used a third can of tuna. I also used almost a whole regular-sized bag of Ruffles potato chips. That said, it was still really easy to make. I'm a newbie chef and have never made a sauce before; this was super easy to manage and the recipe very easy to follow. Will definitely be adding this to my cookbook!"
