Tips

  • Check the turkey cutlet with an instant-read thermometer; it should reach an internal temperature of 165 F when it's done.
  • Use up your stale or day-old bread to make the stuffing cubes.
  • If the dressing gets soggy, or you prefer crisper stuffing, remove it from the crock pot and spread in a shallow greased pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a 400 F oven, or until brown and crusty.

Recipe Variations

  • To change things up, consider stirring some dried cranberries into the apple pie filling.
  • If you don't have turkey, you can use chicken cutlets instead.

How to Store and Freeze

You should always pack and store any turkey leftovers within two hours. To allow the leftovers to cool quickly, place them in a shallow container or on a plate.

  • Leftover turkey and stuffing can be put in an airtight container or bag and placed in the refrigerator where it will keep for three to four days.
  • You can also freeze it in freezer-safe containers or bags for up to one month.

What are turkey cutlets?

Turkey cutlets are simply thin slices of boneless turkey breast. They can be found in most grocery stores.
