Green Salad Recipe

This is a hearty green salad recipe with ham, shredded cheese, bell pepper, onion, and a homemade vinaigrette dressing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups torn iceberg lettuce or romaine
  • 1 cup cooked ham, cut in strips
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss or mild Cheddar cheese
  • 1 small green bell pepper, cut in strips
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, cut in strips
  • .
  • Red Wine Vinaigrette:
  • 1/3 cup salad oil
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper

Preparation:

Cut onion slices in half; separate. Toss with lettuce, cheese, ham, and green and red pepper. Combine vinaigrette ingredients and whisk well. Toss with salad in a serving bowl.
Green salad recipe serves 6.
