This is my family's favorite bread recipe! Neighbors and friends call it ""Pizza Bread,"" and say they can smell it baking on the sidewalk in front of my house. I do alter the recipe slightly... Use half unbleached flour and half hard whole wheat, adding 3 tsp. wheat gluten Parmesan rather than Romano cheese Heaping Tb. of oregano Increase yeast to 2 1/2 tsp. if using some whole wheat. That's it! What an easy accompaniment to lasagna or other Italian-themed meals. Leftovers make kickin' turkey and swiss or tuna salad sandwiches. Huge thanks to Verla for sharing the original recipe.
