Yellow Loaf Cake

Frost this yellow cake with your favorite frosting or glaze.

Cook Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 eggs, well beaten

Preparation:

Beat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition.

Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.
