Ingredients:
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, separated
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; sift once more. Cream butter with sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks then beat in beat in sifted dry ingredients, alternating with the milk and vanilla. In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff; fold into the batter.Pour batter into 2 8-inch round cake pans. Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
