As with the other reviews, these are way too dry. They do have the potential for great flavor though which is why I would make them again. I plan to add the 1/4 cup of water and an additional egg as the other review suggested.

I made these for my son's 2nd birthday as well as a bunch of other appetizers. The only compliant I have about the recipe is that it does not call for any liquid, which it definetly needed. I added an extra egg and about 1/4 cup of water, which made it more doughy. I had to bake them a little bit longer, but they turned out wonderful!

Great Appetizer for the Holidays!December 28, 2007 By jaydubuc
These are a tradition in my household during the holidays, but I can make a few suggestions that will be much simpler and still have a great taste. Use the 1 lb. of raw sausage at room temperature (I usually let it set out for an hour or so before mixing), 2 1/2 cups of Bisquick, and 10 oz. of shredded cheese. Mix these ingredients very thoroughly, ball them up about the size of a quarter or a bit larger maybe. Bake them on 400 for 10-15 min., just keep an eye on them till golden brown. My family has used this recipe for years and everyone loves them. Enjoy!

May need to make some changes....December 26, 2007 By jneie
The sausage cheese balls come out too dry and fall apart way to easily when removing them from the pan. I am going to try the recipe agian, yet next time I am going make the mix with raw sausage instead of cooking it first ( as advised by my grandmother in-law). That should help with the dryness after cooking the balls in the oven. Other than that, I feel that there are some great ingredients with this recipe and I cannot wait to try it agian.
