Instead ofJune 12, 2011 By TeresaDGA
Instead of doing the whole apple pie, I had some apple pie filling in the pantry and a shell in the freezer. Just wanted a topping to put on it and this one hit the spot!! Thank you very much for posting this. It turned out wonderfully. I am sure that your pie recipe is great too, but I didnt have much time to peel apples etc.

This is best apple pieDecember 05, 2008 By sk_peterson
This is the best tasting apple pie and easy to make. I do not suggest using a food processor to mix the topping. Use a fork to blend pre-chopped pieces of butter into the remaining topping ingredients. Use your hands to help mix the cold butter into the dry topping ingredients but not too much or the butter will become too soften. Also, lemon juice is important so the apples do not brown.

Great apple crispNovember 25, 2008 By packrfan2001
I made exactly according to the recipe. This was so delicous, the best crisp i've had. a little different with a crust but so good. i had a bit of filing left over so i cooked over medium heat till the apples were tender and ate just that. I made this over the weekend and decided I loved it so much i'm making one four days later for Thanksgiving to take to the family.
