Banana Pudding Recipe
5 out of 5Best Banana Pudding EVER!June 22, 2011
By msmith545
I needed a dessert to make for my family reunion and when I came across this recipe it looked simple and quick, which was a definite plus. I had to make a few adjustments because I couldn't find 6 oz packages of pudding mix, but it turned out wonderfully! Everyone loved and it was gone within an hour. I also got 3 requests from family members to make it at their birthday parties or graduation parties. Now while I'm making it I have my husband and son standing around me anxiously so they can ""taste test."" :) Best banana pudding recipe EVER!!!

The only thing I changed was that I whipped heavy whipping cream and used that instead of the whipped topping. I made it before noon on a Sunday and it was gone by 8:00 that night. My family said it was the best banana pudding I've ever made.

Tried the recipe this weekend for a bbq. Made it just as it states. It was quick to make and it was delicious! Everyone said they loved it! I would def make this again. My husband loved that it was a ""classic"" recipe. He hates when i try to revamp an oldie recipe lol!!

This recipe was a HUGE hit with my hubby AND my Brother. I love LOVE LOVE it! I can't get enough to be honest...I did make a few changes per suggestions here.. I used one box of Vanilla and one box of Banana pudding...I used 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 2 cups of milk...I also added a small amount of graham cracker crumbs in the layers...And, over the (homemade) whipped topping!

Made this for my Big Brother and he stated it was fabulous. He didn't want me to change a thing.. He even said the consistency was perfect, not too thin and not too thick. I did use banana pudding not vanilla and heavy cream.

I have tried many recipes and this one is the best. Big hit for the holidays. I only changed topping the top with wafers and wafer crumbs in between wafers. Love it Thank you Linda - San Jose California

I have made this frequently over the years and absolutely love this receipe. The only thing I do different is instead of topping it with sliced bananas, I crumble any remaining vanilla wafers and top it with those. I've found that the bananas on top turn black too quickly, and after a short while don't look very appetizing.

This was super easy and tastes great. I've never made the pudding before but I will be sure to make it again. I did take a few suggestions from other posts. Instead of 2 1/2 cups of milk I used 1/2 of heavy cream and 2 cups of milk. I also opted for instant banana and vanilla pudding . It came out to be a little more than 6oz but it worked great!!! This is a very easy recipe that gets huge raves from everyone that has it. If you like banana cream pie then this one is for you. I add graham cracker crumbs in the layers also and it really tastes just like banana cream pie.

I've been making this recipe for years. The extended family requests it for holiday get togethers, etc. My husband, who opened a restaurant three months ago, uses this recipe after trying many others. It is a huge hit at the restaurant as well.

I made this recipe exactly as stated, except I used Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies instead of vanilla wafers. It was phenomenal. Other reviews said the amount of pudding mix (6 oz) might be a typo, but I thought it worked well. It isn't too thick at all.

Made this recipe for Senior Citizens dinner night at the Elks Lodge, they loved it so much they requested me to make it on a regular basis. I have used it at reunions and potluck dinners. Never had one complaint! I subsitute banana cream pudding for the vanilla pudding. Not a dish you would eat if your watching you waistline!

Couldn't find my grandmother's banana pudding recipe and I had been asked to make banana pudding for a retirement party at work. Found this one online and most of the reviews were positive, so I gave it a shot. Seriously, this one is better than my grandmother's! It was flying off the table at work and everyone just raved! I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

My mom always made her B.P. with condensed milk but the pudding was alittle too liquefied. I've been looking for another version still using condensed milk but has a thicker pudding. The consistency was great. The B.P. was thick and rich just the way I like it. I'm sure the B.P. won't be around too long. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

I have made this recipe before and loved it. So I tried making it again and it turned out to be a disaster. I tried it twice and both times the pudding was too liquidy. It was too watery that I could not layer. What did I do wrong??

Always wanted to have a quick and easy recipe for Banana Pudding. And I have finally found the best that there is. My family really enjoyed it. I have never seen Banana Pudding in my house go so fast. My husband came home from work and wanted more of it and was very disappointed when there was no more left. I will definitely use this recipe again, again, and again. It is so quick, easy, and oh so good. Will definitely try this at church or a family function.

I have made this several times and very little is ever left over! Sometimes I add 1 tsp. of Vanilla extract and Banana extract to give it a little extra sweetness in case my bananas are not as ripe as I like.
