The first biscuits I have ever made and they were wonderful. I might use butter next time. I did use the food processor, very easy. I will be making these again. Yum!

Great all around biscuit recipeFebruary 14, 2010 By cccrewmom
This is a standard biscuit recipe which produces light fluffy biscuits. As written, it works great but I use half wheat flour instead of all white and I use half butter instead of all shortening. Better than at least 3 other biscuit recipes I've tried.

Fabulous biscuit recipeMay 03, 2009 By ChefMomRD
I made these with my 5 year old daughter. She used her hands to ""cut in"" the butter, I let her knead the dough, I rolled out the dough, and she cut the dough into about 14 biscuits. The only thing I did different was used butter instead on shortening, which I always do because thats what I prefer. The bottoms were a beautiful golden brown. I rolled the dough out a bit thinner that I think I should have, as I would have liked my biscuits a bit higher. They came out very light and flaky, and overall one of the best biscuit recipes I've used.
