My card group drooled over this! As did my family and friends. Simple to make, yet delicious. My only concern (which I have with everything I bake) is how to test for done-ness. My oven plays games with me so I can't always trust timing baked goods.

Mainly I made the recipe as directed, although I used splenda in place of sugar and I changed the amount of sugar for on top to half cup. Everyone loved it! When I got home, I made another one for my dad on father's day.

I made a few changes for a low calorie low fat recipe I used 1/4 cup of apple sauce instead of butter I used 1/2 of the sugar topping mixture of starch and sugar I baked for 40 min so moist and wonderful. It was easy and all my family members loved it!! I will make this for my next party .

Pretty Darned GoodJuly 28, 2008 By Madeupagin
We have a 17 year old snob. She pretty much won't eat anything. Not only did she eat this, she had seconds AND demanded the rest to take to her boyfriend's house. Thankfully, I have more blueberries so hubby and I can have seconds, too.

went over wellJuly 15, 2008 By mrsherman
Brought to work today and everyone has given it a high rating (one even gave it a 10). I doubled recipe for a 9x13 pan. May try subbing cinnamon for nutmeg next time or even leaving it out. Cut back just a little on sugar for topping and it is still pretty sweet. Was very easy to bake. Love the way the topping baked up with the boiling water.

Pretty easyJuly 11, 2008 By Queenlalisa
I doubled the recipe and made in a 9x13 pan. I did use only half the sugar to sprinkle on top.(another review suggested) And it was plenty sweet. I thought it was weird that you poured boiling water over it before cooking. But it turned out great. It was very moist.

    A Little Too SweetFebruary 29, 2008 By lulabell67
This is really very easy and is almost perfect. It's just way too sweet. It's promising enough so that I'll make it again. The blueberries were delicious, the cake was very flavorful, but the extra cup of sugar poured over the top of the cake before the boiling water made it almost too sweet to even eat. Next time I'll try cutting the one cup of sugar down to 1/2 cup at the end.
