I combined all the ingredients at once and brought it to a boil. the last blueberry sauce I made had cornstarch in it and it had a stringy consistency that was off-putting. this was delicious and very easy.

This Blueberry Sauce was absolutely delicious and a great addition to the Easy Blueberry Cake recipe that i also found on this site. I crushed the blueberries in a mini food processor which made this step really quick and easy.

This sauce was very easy to make with a great outcome. I double the receipt with any problems. I also enhanced the receipt a little by using only 1/8th teaspoon of salt rather than 1/4 teaspoon. The juice of 1 lemon (approx. 2.25 tablespoons) vs. 1 tablespoon, and using the zest of 1/2 a lemon.

This is a wonderful sauce for pancakes, ice cream and over scones. It has a clean fresh taste. I smashed 2 cups of very sweet blueberries in the saucepan. Added about 1 tablespoon of sugar, a squeeze of lemon, and a couple of drops of vanilla from the bottle. No salt. Brought it to a boil and did one minute. I then added a handful of whole blueberries. The sauce was wonderful on the pancakes, and the occasional bite into a whole juicy berry was divine!

This is a really easy sauce to make and it was perfect with ice cream and shortcake. Next time I would definitely eliminate the salt from the recipe, though. Even with just a small amount, it was too noticeable in the sauce.
