    A new family favorite!February 16, 2010 By sallydav45
I made this cake for Valentine's Day & it was a huge hit! My husband says I can make it anytime & he'll be happy. It was perfect for the occasion, chocolate, cherries, and it was SO easy to make. I followed the directions exactly including the icing which was easy, too. Thank you for this great recipe!

This never failsMay 02, 2009 By chasgribbs
We have been doing the chocolate cherry cake for 20 years at least. It always turns out. It never fails to please. A bundt pan is our hands down choice.

The WinnerJune 19, 2008 By leevernot
That's exactly what one of my husband's poker group members called himself at the end of the evening. Said he won, he ate more slices than anyone else, he had 5 slices of the best chocolate cake he's ever had.

Tried and trueJune 11, 2008 By Kirstee
I've made this recipe for years and it turns out every time. I keep the ingredients in my pantry for when we have last minure company. The cake is rich and moist, and the frosting is so fudgie. I prefer to use bittersweet chocolate chips for the frosting. It's a family and friends favorite everytime!

    awesome cake!February 14, 2008 By donnettah
We make this cake for adult birthdays or Valentines Day. It is very rich and delicious. I make a similar frosting using 1 small can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 stick of margarine, 1 bag of semi sweet morsels, 1 teaspoon of almond flavoring melted together over a low heat then poured over a cooled cake and then sprinkled with chopped pecans or walnuts. Truly wonderful!

Great Cake & FrostingAugust 08, 2007 By Stormyweathertn
I needed something different and was looking for a recipe. I didn't have cherry pie filling but I did have two cans of sour cherries. I made a filling as for a cherry pie and added that to the cake mix. There was plenty of cherry flavor and chunks of cherries in the cake. The frosting just made the cake.
