This cake was not cheep to make or good to eat not one I would make again .

My mother made this for the family back in the 70's. It was a family event, we each took turns stirring the super thick batter. Now, I mix this in an electric mixer and switch to dough hooks when the batter gets thick. I've substituted regular chocolate frosting mix (even 4 packaged of JIffy chocolate frosting mix) and had wonderful results. It's great served warm with ice cream!

Can't make this cake can no longer buy Double Dutch Fudge Buttercream Frosting Mix. It was always a very good cake but Pillsbury doesn't have the frosting.
