They are delicious with chocolate chips and a burnt butter icing

I lost this receipe years ago and was so glad to find it again. I live in a home full of fussy people that it's like pulling hen's teeth to get them to try something new. They tried them and now there are only a few left. I just made them last evening. I used chocolate chips. Next time I shall try using maple flavoring and walnuts and maybe butterscotch chips. They're good with chopped dates too!
