did not like the dr pepper tasteJanuary 22, 2010 By parky53051
Beef came out nice and tender but I just did not like the taste. After tasting I added a lot of old pit barbecue sauce to just get it to the point I could eat it. I am sure that this is just my personal taste or I blew the recipe somehow.

We wanted something that would be ready to eat when we got home, so we put all the ingredients in all day, cooked a 2 1/2 pound roast on low for 10 hours. We knew as soon as we got home it was going to be good, but when we tasted it we were surprised just how good. Simple to prepare & everyone loved it!

    A HitApril 30, 2009 By sschuham
This recipe was incredibly simple and my whole family loved it. I added a coarsely chopped onion with the roast in the beginning (I used rump roast). It makes a generous portion for 8. The ingredients are so easy yet the flavor is so much better than you could get from any purchased sauce!

    Great StuffNovember 22, 2008 By watertown1978
I added a bit more Smoke to it but overall this was a great starting point for my first ""real"" pot roast cook. Thanks for the Idea!

    Easy!October 07, 2007 By barb.jacobson
I substituted Bullseye BBQ sauce for the liquid smoke and ketchup. I think next time I will only put 1/2 the coke as it was pretty sweet. Great texture, the meat basically fell apart. Another hint I saw on this site was to cut the roast into pieces which I did prior to cooking. BARB
