    Yummy! This was a hit.January 02, 2011 By BamBamMom
I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious. My sausage did not produce much dripping (only about a teaspoon), but I added the suggested tablespoons for the Crisco and it came out perfect. Quick and easy! This amount was enough for two people so I would make a double if I had more to feed. We did have large servings cause it was so yummy.

I use Jimmy Dean Sausage fry it up in a skillet i don't drain the grease instead i leave the grease inside the skillet and add All Purpose Flour then i add milk making sure that all the flour on top of the cooked sausage is drowning under milk, add a couple tablespoons of black pepper and thats pretty much how i make my sausage gravy. Biscuits i use Butter Biscuits and i cover the baking sheet with butter so that the biscuits don't stick to the baking sheet. i usually turn the biscuits every 5-6 minutes until they are soft and have a nice golden color too them.

    Great recipe!February 23, 2008 By alvinschmucker
This is a great recipe for sausage gravy, and was easy to follow for someone like me (little cooking experience). I doubled it so I could use a 1 pound pack of Jimmy Dean regular sausage, and I used the Crisco vegetable shortening. It came out perfectly; great texture, wonderful flavor. It does take a while to thicken; during this stage you will want to have your burner on medium if not higher to keep things moving (and don't forget to keep stirring too). You will want to add a little salt and some pepper (I used ground black) if you like your food on the spicy side, but if you prefer bland (like my wife) just leave that out. I will be making it again.

Great Base GravyNovember 17, 2007 By Missbe
This recipe provides a *great* base gravy. It was quite bland by my palate, and I had to add other ingredients to spice it up.

    To good to be true!August 05, 2007 By Patch2480
My husband loves homemade biscuts and gravy, but I've never been able to make gravy until I found this recipe! I made it for his birthday breakfast and he loves it! I'm not a fan of gravy, but I really liked it! Thanks, this will be the only recipe I'll use!!
