More nuts, less timeMarch 30, 2010 By LoralynnB
I used salted nuts, so I didn't add salt to the sugar mixture. I also doubled the amount of nuts. Yum

    Great recipeDecember 15, 2009 By rockyroad40
This recipe works great in my 1000 watt microwave. I double the peanuts however, it needs more. I have also used maple syrup instead of Karo syrup and it works great. I tried a double recipe and it failed, had to give it to my mother-in-law

    Cathy's Microwave Peanut BrittleDecember 04, 2009 By Barbaloo7
I just used this recipe, and the peanut brittle doesn't look like any I've ever made or seen. It never did reach the ""amber"" look stage. I regret that I have lost or misplaced my own reliable recipe.

Based on my attempts, seems full proofNovember 21, 2009 By mommajenny
I made this recipe twice and had success both times. I will say that you might consider using a microwavable bowl with a handle, such as a large pyrex measuring cup to cook in as the bowl gets really extremely hot from the microwave and is hard to navigate (the mixture has to be poured really fast before it sets). I learned this the hard way after burning myself on the first attempt. The first time I cooked this, I cooked it 5 minutes, 40 seconds on a 1200 watt microwave. It had a rich caramely taste to it. The second time, I cooked it, I undercut the cooking by about 45 seconds and it was less caramely tasting, but the vanilla taste was more apparent. Great both ways and the cooking time didn't seem to make a difference except for the taste as the brittle texture turned out perfectly both times. Also, I skipped the second step and added the nuts in just before I added the vanilla, baking soda and margerine as I did not want to overtoast the nuts.

    Great Recipe!December 10, 2008 By mayeuxsherri1
I have been making this recipe for years. It's a Christmas tradition. However, DON'T decide to double the recipe. I made that mistake several years ago and it doesn't work. I had to throw it all away and start all over.

    easy as pieDecember 24, 2007 By kola52
After the horrible mess I made trying to make peanut brittle years ago, I was scared to try again. This recipe is perfect. works like a charm and its delicious. My microwave must have a lower wattage, I had to microwave the first time for about 7 and a half minutes I just watched for the amber color and stopped it then.

    Peanut BrittleDecember 17, 2007 By Nanny14
Sorry this was not a good recipe. Been making peanut brittle for 30 years. This did not even set enough to break apart.

very easy and goodDecember 17, 2007 By dkleitz
I have tried 3 different recipes and all of them said to cook it longer than this 1, none of them turned out. This recipe turned out great the first time. Thank you very much.

Best Peanut Brittle Candy I've ever madeDecember 12, 2007 By GinaLane
I made one batch for family and they insisted I make another for a party we were having last week...I handed out three copies of the recipe. I'd say this was a big hit. I made it today with cashews and it was AWESOME. Thanks for sharing.
