I'm not sure what the other problems were but mine came out perfect! I used 3 eggs and 5 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 tsp of vanilla. The key is: Patience! I let my egg whites get stiff before adding the sugar and vanilla in and it was perfect.

I resolved my weepie meringue problems but adding an eighth of a teaspoon of cream of tartar to every 2 egg whites and voila meringue that looks and tastes great.

I got really frustrated with this recipe because the meringue never got the peaks it should have during the beating process. My lemon meringue came out with a flat meringue top with no peaks and the meringue was runny....followed the recipe to the ""t"" and still didn't get the desired results.
