Creamy Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

Loved this recipe and would highly recommend it. The taste was good, especially the next day, it was even better. Glad we doubled the recipe and wondered about not using a cover but followed directions and turned out we didn’t need one. This wasn’t a real loose & creamy sauce, it was perfect. All flavors absorbed into the potatoes with just enough creaminess left over. You could add other spices but you might lose that good potato and cheesy taste.

I loved this recipe. It turned out great. I sliced my potatoes using a potato slicer which slices them very thin and I had to bake the casserole for about 1-1/2 hrs until it was done. I wondered if I was supposed to put a lid on the casserole. The recipe didn't say to do that, so I didn't. I will definitely make this again, though, it's wonderful. I might try adding bits of cooked bacon the next time just for fun! Thanks for posting this recipe!

I made this dish for lunch and cooked it exactly as long as it recommends but the potatoes were not completely done. I may have sliced them a little bit too thick, about 1/4"", but I think it would cook better if it were covered with foil, until the last 10 minutes, then put on the last 1/2 cup of cheese. The taste is great, and it's fairly simple. Either cut the potatoes extremely thin to about 1/8"", or cover with foil, or bake a little bit longer.

Added three cloves of garlic to the vegetable mixture & some white pepper. Found that it needed to be baked a little longer than 45 minutes; potatoes were crisp.

This recipe was delicious! I would recommend doubling the recipe for the sauce...there wasn't nearly enough for all of those potatoes! Other than that everything turned out very well.
