Seafood Bisque Recipe

This is a wonderful recipe...however, here in New Orleans, we like a little food with our crawfish and Crawfish Bisque is no exception. I would ""twique"" this recipe to make it a little spicier by adding the obligatory Cayenne Pepper and Tabasco and either increase the fish stock or add seafood stock. Bon appetit!!! I'm making some today for the Irish-Italian parade.

I made this bisque and it was tasty!! Although, I did have to add a lil more seasoning and sherry, but it came out tasting they way I wanted it!!! I absolutely love crabs & shrimp, so of course I added double the required servings.

I've not made Seafood Bisque before, so I thought this looked like a good starter recipe. I made alterations to the recipe before I even started. In addition to celery and green onions, I also added half a red pepper to saute. I used only 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk, not 2 1/2 cups. I added about 20 ounces of Chicken Broth. I used fresh pepper and just a sprinkle of Kosher Salt. I sprinkled just a bit of Cayenne pepper for kick. Let simmer. This is very good; as good as any seafood bisque I've eaten in restaurants. We'll see what my husband says when he comes home!!

This recipe was horrible. I wasted money on this recipe and there is no taste to the bisque. It needs a base. I'm currently in the search of a new recipe and i don't recommend anybody using this recipe and wasting their time.

No exaggeration, it is just the best tasting bisque ever. I used crab and my husband raved on and on. I thought the other reviews were a little bit over the top but they were right on the money. Very delicious. The only thing is the recipe could have been a little more detailed. Such as how long it takes to prepare and a general idea of how long each stage takes. The cooking and stirring until thickened took alot longer than I would have thought, other than that it was perfectly seasoned and was superb!

She shared some with her family and now they're ALL crazy. :) I'm making it again today with copies of your recipe as take home treats.
