Im only doing this because the other review is bad I have made this recipe 3x so far and like it because of the clove it is different if you follow the recipe you will have a HARD lump of batter more dry then moist very hard to form into small balls but worth it. just follow the recipe to the letter I put a damp towel over the bowl when I put it in the frige overnight

Seriously, not good. Followed to the letter and... -- Not sweet enough at all. -- Way too wet and globby. Is there suppose to be granulated sugar as well? Should there have been more dry ingredients? ...in my opinion, absolutely. Will try another next time and hope for the best, since this is my favorite kind of cookie.

Regarding the first review-you said your batch came out ""salty"" yet the recipe does not call for salt! What you don't know is that margarine is loaded with salt (and water and oil-yech). You should only use unsalted butter in baking. You also forgot to sift the flour which gave you about half a cup too much.
5 out of 5""THE BEST GINGER SNAPS MY FAMILY EVER TASTED""January 09, 2008

Quick to prepare, absolutely delicious. Light, tasty, just enough of the ginger taste to be good and yet not overwhelming. I shared them with 25 people, family and friends, and they all wanted more, plus the recipe. Thank you for a recipe that is as good as my Grandmother Petruccelli's!
