Just what I was looking forDecember 04, 2011 By ktsmom430
I found this recipe last year when I was looking for a sweet and sour pork recipe without breading on the pork. I have made it many times since I found the recipe, and after making it for supper last night again, I had to review it, as it is my favorite meal now. I have tweaked it, just to suit our personal tastes, but the first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly and knew it was exactly what I was looking for as a basic recipe, and is wonderful as is. The only changes for our taste, is that I add 1-1/2 tablespoons of plum sauce, and about a tsp of red pepper flakes to the sauce that you simmer the pork in, and cut the pineapple tidbits to an 8 oz can, and I add more bell peppers (any color). I do cut the meat and peppers into cubes, not strips, but that too is personal preference. The meat is so tender and delicious. I serve it over Texmati rice. Thank you so much for this great recipe. It is the best!

This is absolutely the best. It is not breaded and I use Splenda and a small amount of molasses for the brown sugar to cut the carbs.

Very goodFebruary 05, 2011 By Louiseingram
I made this tonight and my family really loved it. I added a little grated ginger and some garlic. Also, a little more water at the end to stretch the sauce. This is a keeper, it was just as good if not better than take out!

    Wow!December 29, 2010 By M.Polo
This turned out GREAT! It had a lot of flavor in the sauce, and the meat turned out so tender. I wouldn't change a thing. I will make this again.

This recipe was an absolute waste of a good pork loin. The sauce was bland and tasteless. Anyone that thinks this dish was good would have to be related to the cook.

this is so worth it!!!January 31, 2010 By whoneycat
I used two boneless pork chops and added and an extra red pepper, some celery, that was in the vegetable bin, and baby carrots on the bottom of the crock pot. I also added garlic (a plus in our house) and stir fry ginger seasoning. I don't think we will ever order this at a chinese resturant again. This is a great and easy reciipe!!!

I can make it fasterJune 10, 2008 By KathieKH
I had some leftover pork roast that I decided to use. I chunked the peppers as well as using green & yellow peppers. The pork shredded and therefore was in every bite, Since my meat was already cooked, I added the sauce mixture to the pre-cooked meat and heated for 10 mins. I also added 1/2 can water chestnuts & 1/2 can of bamboo shoots and heated 10 more minutes, It added more texture and my husband loved it. My picky brother who is ""not experimental"" cleaned his plate.

Fantastic and easy to find ingredientsMay 31, 2008 By klikbeetle
The recipe was really tasty. We didn't have any leftovers! I modified the recipe slightly by using cider vinegar, added a 1/2 tsp of black pepper, a 1/2 tsp of ground ginger, and doubled the soy sauce to two tbs from one, and used only 1/4 tsp of salt. Then I seasoned the rice to include one tsp of ""5-spice powder"" and 1-tsp of soy sauce.

Emergency Sweet and Sour PorkFebruary 08, 2008 By sus49
My husband was craving sweet and sour pork and I didn't have a recipe so I used this one. It turned out very well. He really enjoyed it and felt very pampered because I had gone ""out of my way"" to make it for him. This recipe is easy to follow and very tasty. I will definitely keep this recipe and use it again. Thanks!
